Aster, the decentralized exchange, has reaffirmed that there have been no changes to its tokenomics after an update on CoinMarketCap (CMC) led to increased speculation within its community about possible revisions to the project's unlock schedule.

The confusion arose when community members noticed discrepancies in the unlock dates displayed on CMC and Binance. The initial unlock dates, which were set for 2025, had been altered to mid-2026 and even as far ahead as 2035 in some instances.

In response, the Aster team clarified that this miscommunication was not reflective of any policy changes. They explained that the original tokenomics included monthly unlocks for their ecosystem; however, due to the absence of a usage plan for these tokens, no unlocks had been carried out. Consequently, since the token generation event, the tokens allocated for these unlocks have remained untapped and preserved in a locked address, thereby not affecting the circulating supply of ASTER.

To further alleviate any ongoing confusion, Aster announced plans to transfer the unused unlocked tokens to a designated public address. This will allow for independent tracking of any movements.

The Aster team stated, “We currently do not have any plans or necessity to utilize funds from this address. We will ensure full transparency with the community regarding the future usage of these assets.”

Currently, Aster (ASTER) is trading at $1.12, increasing by about 10% over the previous day, as reported by CoinMarketCap. However, the token is still experiencing a decline of over 50% from its all-time high of $2.42, recorded in September.

CZ Reveals His Aster Investment

Earlier this month, Aster witnessed a surge of more than 30% after Binance co-founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao disclosed that he holds more than $2.5 million worth of the token. CZ shared his wallet on social media platform X, highlighting that he purchased Aster with personal funds and emphasized his position as a long-term holder rather than a trader.

Additionally, influential traders have been quick to follow CZ's lead. Notably, one trader called “Gold” revealed that they opened a position in Aster, signaling that it was the first time CZ had publicly announced buying a token apart from BNB.
