“Tom deMark, our BitMine crypto advisor, has been anticipating a convergence of time and price, targeting $77K for Bitcoin (BTC) and $2,400 for Ethereum (ETH). Everything aligns for crypto to be bottoming now. As long as the fundamentals of crypto remain strong, a recovery is on the horizon,” Lee stated.

Lee noted that the recent downturn in the crypto market coincided with the announcement of the new Federal Reserve chair. However, he remarked that the severity of the sell-off was “greater than expected,” emphasizing that the market was devoid of leverage immediately following the October 10 de-leveraging event.

Bitcoin Forecast: Potential Further Decline

Recently, Bitcoin experienced a steep decline of 11%, dropping from $90K to $75K. At the time of writing, it had made a slight recovery to $78K. Nonetheless, Alex Thorn, head of research at Galaxy, cautioned that Bitcoin may see additional losses due to a “lack of near-term catalysts.”

Currently, the 200-week Moving Average (MA) stands around $50K, a level that has historically served as a significant buying zone. Thorn advised, “If Bitcoin approaches the 200-week moving average or the realized price, these points should provide strong entry opportunities for long-term investors, as seen in prior cycles.”

Interestingly, some whales holding over 1,000 BTC have already begun taking advantage of discounted prices to expand their holdings, as reported by Bitfinex.

Aurelie Barthere, principal research analyst at Nansen, a crypto analytics platform, also shared a somewhat pessimistic perspective, aligning with Thorn’s outlook. Barthere pointed to potential changes following Kevin Warsh’s possible confirmation as the new Fed chair.

In an email to AMBCrypto, Barthere stated, “Altering the Fed's operating regime and reducing its balance sheet will not be simple (the Committee needs to be convinced), but I believe the markets are starting to factor in a slight chance of a quantitative tightening (QT) restart. This could be bearish for crypto.”

Furthermore, the price movements in the current cycle reflect patterns seen in the 2021 cycle, with fractals suggesting that Bitcoin could retrace to around $70K. This price point marked the peak of the previous cycle, and historical bear markets often stabilize around these past highs.
