Romero emphasized that Merkle aims to repay the entire amount raised over the past five years, stating that the firm wants to act responsibly regarding investor funds.

This announcement follows the acquisition of Farcaster by Neynar, a venture-backed startup that has been building infrastructure within the Farcaster ecosystem for some time.

As part of the deal, Neynar will take control of Farcaster's smart contracts, code repositories, mobile applications, and Clanker, an AI-driven token launchpad.
