In a recent tweet, CryptoQuant highlighted the "percentage of altcoins near ATL" (all-time low) metric, indicating a considerable portion of altcoins continues to face substantial pressure. According to them, this represents the most significant decline of altcoins recorded during the current market cycle.

Current Market Analysis

Bitcoin ended February down 14.85% and has decreased 47.28% from its peak in October. This unfavorable environment has significantly impacted the altcoin sector, with 38% of these cryptocurrencies hovering near their all-time lows, reflecting a drop worse than the aftermath of FTX’s collapse.

The FTX crash occurred in November 2022, after which the failure of the stablecoin project TerraUSD initiated a series of collapses involving crypto firms such as Three Arrows Capital and BlockFi.

CryptoQuant observed that the "percentage of altcoins near ATL" metric peaked at 35% in April 2023 and reached 37.8% immediately following the FTX crash.
