The data indicates that Bitcoin's daily return volatility dipped to an average of just 2.24%, marking a new low compared to the previous year, 2023, which saw a volatility rate of 2.30%. For the past three years, Bitcoin’s annual volatility has consistently stayed below the 3% benchmark, reaching levels not seen since 2016.

K33 Research highlights this as a "clear" downward trend in volatility, indicating a growing maturity in the market and more predictable price movements. Crypto trader Niels emphasized that, for the first time, Bitcoin achieved an annual volatility lower than any prior cycle, including its chaotic early years and the post-ETF era. He referred to 2025 as “the calmest year in Bitcoin’s history,” despite significant price fluctuations, including 16% corrections in a single day during the fourth quarter.

In 2025, Bitcoin’s most substantial correction saw a drop of nearly 36% over two months, which is significantly less severe than previous cycles where corrections often exceeded 50%.
