Bitcoin's Path to $100,000

Nic Puckrin, a digital asset analyst and co-founder of Coin Bureau, discussed the recent price fluctuations, indicating that the upward trend is likely a reaction from investors adjusting their portfolios after last year's significant sell-off, rather than a sign of a long-term trend change.

“The bounce in Bitcoin we’re witnessing this week appears to be a reflexive move by investors rather than a depiction of a substantial trend shift,” Puckrin stated.

Bitcoin is currently struggling to gain traction after touching the $94,700 resistance level. Puckrin cautions that failing to overcome this hurdle could lead to a decline in value. Nevertheless, if BTC manages to surpass this resistance, he believes it could reach the $100,000 milestone.

Looking further into the future, Puckrin predicts another all-time high could be on the horizon in 2026, albeit he advises careful consideration regarding the scale of that rise. “In the long run, I do foresee another all-time high this year, but it may not be as pronounced as some expect, and the threat of a reversal into bear territory is still quite significant,” he mentioned.

Critical Resistance Level

Amid this optimism, some analysts remain doubtful about the immediate outlook for Bitcoin. Vince Stanzione, CEO and founder of First Information, presents a bearish perspective, arguing that the current risk-reward ratio does not favor buying at this time.

Stanzione prefers to compare Bitcoin with gold instead of the dollar, asserting that Bitcoin has much ground to cover. “I've maintained a negative stance on Bitcoin throughout 2025, and I intend to continue that outlook in 2026,” he remarked.

He noted that while Bitcoin's price dropped around 6% by the close of 2025, gold surged by 66%, demonstrating a clear gap in performance between the two assets.

Stanzione believes gold will continue to outperform Bitcoin this year and predicts that Bitcoin will end the year at a lower price. “There are no compelling reasons to acquire Bitcoin at the current level of $92,000,” he stated.

In contrast, market analyst Ali Martinez pinpointed a vital price threshold for Bitcoin in the short term. He expressed on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that $94,555 serves as the “bullish trigger” for the cryptocurrency.

If Bitcoin breaks above this level, Martinez noted that the next target could be $105,291, representing a potential increase of 12%. Achieving this level would significantly reduce the gap to the all-time high of over $126,000 reached last October.
