This rally was accompanied by a surge of ETF inflows and what Nick Ruck, director of LVRG Research, described as “renewed risk appetite.” Still, analysts noted that the underlying market conditions remained unaltered.

According to the firm, this score has not changed, even with recent price fluctuations. "Even after the recent price rally, fundamental and technical indicators still point to a bear market environment," CryptoQuant noted on Thursday.

The firm was clear that the brief price increase reflects a temporary easing of pressure rather than a significant market turnaround. Unrealized losses among traders and long-term holders have reached levels not seen since July 2022 prior to the most recent increase, suggesting that temporary exhaustion may slow the downward trend without reversing it.

A potential sign of easing pressure was reported on Friday, as analysts observed that market momentum might be nearing a “critical shift.” They assessed that Bitcoin could be transitioning out of a period of pronounced negative momentum—a phase often preceding broader market changes. However, the timeline and nature of any ensuing shifts remain uncertain.

Furthermore, February's nonfarm payroll data, projected to indicate a slowdown, added to market sentiment's weight. Analysts pointed to these "softer macro signals" as factors keeping cryptocurrencies vulnerable to further downturns.
