During the podcast, Claver discussed how blockchain technology is gaining traction in financial institutions. He implied that XRP could reach a price point in the three or four digits range by 2026, emphasizing XRP’s potential role in global financial settling transactions.

Currently, XRP trades below $1.40, far from the $1,000 mark. According to Claver, the key driver behind such a price surge would be widespread adoption by major banks and institutional investors. He referenced Monica Long, President of Ripple Labs, who pointed to institutional adoption as a crucial factor for XRP’s growth trajectory in 2026. Claver mentioned influential firms poised to lead this trend, such as BNY Mellon, Fidelity, Citi, Franklin Templeton, and JPMorgan.

Claver highlighted that for significant investments to flow into XRP, it is essential for the cryptocurrency to achieve a high and stable market capitalization. He stated, “If you have a huge market cap for XRP, something much higher than people can comprehend, it will be very difficult to move that price with the inflows or outflows.”

Claver noted that the introduction of spot Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) and Digital Asset Treasuries (DATs) would significantly bolster XRP’s acceptance among financial institutions. Although recent market trends have shown gradual inflows into US-based Spot XRP ETFs, these have not yet reached a scale that could drive prices to $1,000 by the year’s end.

Ripple's Strategic Moves for Institutional Growth

Claver pointed out that Ripple is strategically positioning itself to benefit from institutional growth through various acquisitions. These acquisitions expand Ripple’s capabilities beyond merely payment processing.

During the interview, he mentioned that Ripple is now also focusing on treasury management solutions and ongoing updates to RLUSD, which could enhance the utility of its ecosystem. “They’re doing treasury management at this point, so if they did want people to hold RLUSD and be able to generate a return on that, that’d be great,” Claver remarked.

The acquisition of companies like Hidden Road, which is integrated into Ripple Prime, along with the buyout of GTreasury and the launch of Ripple Treasury, have extended Ripple’s offerings for institutional clients. Claver emphasized that these developments are part of the broader Ripple One product suite, stating, “They’re in a very unique position to capitalize on this.”
