In a research note published on March 18, Zach Pandl, the Head of Research at Grayscale, outlines the investment opportunity. Bitcoin currently represents about 90% of the “Currencies Crypto Sector,” which Grayscale estimates to encompass approximately $1.6 trillion spread across fifteen cryptocurrencies. In stark contrast, Zcash currently holds a small fraction of that market. However, Pandl believes that this gap is not necessarily permanent.

“Bitcoin was the first decentralized digital currency and is still the largest based on market capitalization,” he states. “However, other blockchains with digital currency uses are emerging.” Within this competitive landscape, Grayscale views Zcash as strategically poised to gain traction over time.

Will McEvoy, CIO of Cypherpunk Technologies, has labeled Zcash as “crypto’s most mispriced asset.” Qiao Wang, co-founder of Alliance DAO, considers ZEC to be the “last chance for a 1000x growth in crypto.” Additionally, BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes has predicted that ZEC could hit $1,000 initially, with an ultimate target of $10,000.
