Trader Tardigrade, a market observer, noted the potential for Solana to reach the $100 milestone if the breakout is confirmed, highlighted by retesting previous support levels.

However, after failing to maintain its breakout status on Friday morning, SOL's price returned to its previously established one-month accumulation range. Rekt Capital pointed out that the current market conditions exhibit signs similar to those seen during the initial phases of a bear market, possibly indicating that Solana is gearing up for a more significant price correction.

Eric Balchunas, a Senior ETF Analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence, pointed out in a recent X post that although Solana's price is currently down by 57% since its spot Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) launched in July, this category has attracted $1.5 billion in inflows without significant withdrawals.

Balchunas highlighted that around half of these inflows came from institutional investors, representing a "serious investor base" and signaling promising future prospects for this category.

"In the historical context of ETFs launching during downturns, attracting inflows is almost impossible. Most would struggle to survive their first year if facing a 57% drop in the first six months. Timing is critical. Solana is truly defying conventional expectations here," he elaborated.

Putting into perspective, Balchunas compared SOL’s $50 billion market cap with Bitcoin’s (BTC) $1.4 trillion. He noted that Solana ETFs could be effectively viewed as gathering the equivalent of $54 billion in net new flows—almost double what Bitcoin experienced at a similar point in its post-launch phase while in an uptrend.

However, it is important to mention that the ETF category faced its first negative day in more than a month on Thursday, with outflows totaling $5.23 million, according to SoSoValue data.
