According to a Bloomberg report, JPMorgan's markets division is investigating the potential to introduce various crypto products and services aimed at institutional clients. This evaluation includes both spot trading and derivatives offerings, although definitive plans have yet to be established and will hinge on sufficient demand from clients for particular products.

The bank has chosen not to comment on the report, which has also not been independently verified by Reuters. Despite Jamie Dimon's public skepticism regarding Bitcoin—often referring to it derogatorily—JPMorgan has been increasingly involved in blockchain technology.

In May, Dimon indicated that while JPMorgan would facilitate clients in purchasing Bitcoin, the bank would not hold these assets in custody. Furthermore, earlier this month, JPMorgan facilitated a short-term bond for Galaxy Digital on the Solana blockchain, showcasing its growing blockchain capabilities.

The bank also launched its inaugural tokenized money-market fund, known as the MONY fund, on Ethereum in December with an initial capital of $100 million. At present, Bitcoin is struggling to break past a resistance level of $93,000 while attempting to maintain a support level around $85,000.

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF holdings have decreased by less than 5% despite over a 30% drop from the highs observed in October, suggesting that institutional investors are largely maintaining their positions. "The selling pressure is primarily driven by retail participants engaging in leveraged and short-term trades," Youssef added.

Additionally, last month JPMorgan's analysts forecasted that Bitcoin could rise to $170,000 within six to twelve months as the market undergoes perpetual futures deleveraging. Currently, the total value of the global crypto market stands at approximately $3.1 trillion, with Bitcoin representing around $1.8 trillion, and expectations for reaching a new all-time high next year as adoption continues to grow.
