After reaching a three-week high of $130 on Sunday, Solana experienced a 6.1% correction, dropping to around $122 at the beginning of the week. The cryptocurrency fell below its macro support in the $120 region, touching an eight-month low of $116 in mid-December.

Since that dip, Solana has been fluctuating between the $120-$126 range, making several attempts to break through local resistance but facing rejections after each attempt. Following a 5.6% surge during Sunday’s broader market recovery, SOL was unable to maintain its push, retreating after the early Monday correction.

Amid these developments, market observer Crypto Jobs noted that Solana had broken out of a six-week falling wedge, which could target the $144-$146 zone if the current momentum continues and price confirms a retest of the breakout. However, the latest pullback has temporarily pushed SOL below the upper boundary of this pattern. Analyst Man of Bitcoin also indicated that the cryptocurrency had surpassed a one-month downtrend line, signaling an early movement towards the $129-$130 range.

He emphasized that “remaining above the broken trendline is essential for sustaining upward momentum,” but cautioned that as long as prices stay under $146, a scenario where values drop closer to the $100-$105 support remains plausible. Following the rejection on Monday, he stated that "wave-4 might already be complete," and a decisive break below the trendline would further support this notion.

Concern Over SOL's Higher Timeframe Chart

Market analyst Elite Crypto expressed that Solana "doesn’t look very strong" on the higher timeframe, citing the emergence of a multi-year bearish pattern on SOL's chart.

An analysis on X reveals that the cryptocurrency has been forming a Head and Shoulders pattern since early 2024, with the neckline positioned at approximately $105 on the weekly chart.

The chart indicates that the left shoulder developed during the Q1 2024 rally, while the head and right shoulder formed during its peak performance in Q1 and Q3 2025, respectively. “If $SOL loses the support at $105, prices could descend to the $75–$51 range, and this stage might persist until mid-2026,” explained the investor, adding that “after this duration, SOL could turn bullish and be positioned for a better upward move.”

Henry from Lord of Alts similarly pointed out the formation of a double top with the neckline around current levels, instead of a Head and Shoulders pattern. According to him, “We created a clear double top, rolled over, and now the price appears to be heading back towards a zone that has historically provided solid support.” If the altcoin fails to maintain the present support, it could see a retracement towards the $60 level, as indicated by the charts.

He further expressed that SOL’s price might also face a downturn to the $35 area in the coming months due to an “unaddressed gap below” in the market.
