On November 3, 2025, the Economic Affairs and Taxation Committee of the National Council halted its work on the list of partner countries with which Switzerland intends to share data under CARF. Consequently, while the CARF will be legislated in January 2026, it will not be put into practice starting January 1, 2026, as originally intended. The earliest that data exchanges can begin is now 2027.

This delay follows Switzerland's efforts last year to integrate crypto assets into its international tax transparency framework.
