MetaMask's integration with Sei allows users to easily explore Sei’s ecosystem, gaining access to a variety of decentralized applications and Sei-native assets right within their wallets. As a result of this update, the total number of blockchains supported by MetaMask has risen to 11.

“By extending MetaMask's support to emerging networks like Sei, we aim to address real challenges faced by users,” said Gal Eldar, global product lead at MetaMask. “As Web3 transitions into a multi-chain environment, users should not have to navigate through multiple wallets or complex bridges. With Sei integrated into MetaMask, we're offering a smoother and safer experience that is expected to draw more users into the Web3 space.”

MetaMask has also introduced a dedicated Sei page on its platform, where users can access various features, including Sei-based dApps, games, tokens, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Additionally, users can easily swap and bridge assets to Sei or buy SEI directly within the MetaMask wallet.

The integration arrives at a time when Sei’s ecosystem is experiencing remarkable growth, particularly in the decentralized finance sector. Daily on-chain transactions have surged to over 4.2 million, and the total value locked has surpassed $600 million. Furthermore, Sei has seen a significant increase in monthly active users (MAUs), reaching 11 million.

According to DeFiLlama, Sei's stablecoin market cap has increased by more than 30% over the past week, now exceeding $265 million.

By adding support for this layer-1 blockchain, MetaMask is unlocking high-performance network infrastructure for over 100 million users worldwide. Justin Barlow, executive director at the Sei Development Foundation, commented on the partnership:
