This included a $68 million purchase on Saturday and an additional $130.7 million acquisition on Friday, as reported by the blockchain data platform Lookonchain. With these latest transactions, BitMine's total holdings have reached $11.3 billion, which equates to 3.08% of the entire Ether supply. The company is now just shy of its target to accumulate 5%, according to insights from StrategicEthReserve.

BitMine's ongoing investments signal a robust belief in the long-term growth potential of Ether. Additionally, the firm boasts $882 million in cash reserves, which may be earmarked for further Ether purchases.

This significant move by BitMine comes at a time when digital asset treasury (DAT) activity is experiencing major declines. Corporate acquisitions of Ether have plummeted by 81% over a three-month period—from 1.97 million Ether in August to just 370,000 net ETH acquired in November. Nevertheless, BitMine has managed to secure the largest slice of these acquisitions, amassing 679,000 Ether valued at $2.13 billion over the past month.

Over the last 24 hours, smart money traders have increased their short positions by $2.8 million, leading to a cumulative short position of $21 million on Ether, as recorded by Nansen.
