On December 5, BlackRock submitted the S-1 Form to the SEC to seek approval for its iShares Ethereum Staking Trust (ETHB). The fund aims to mirror the price movement of Ether while also distributing the staking rewards from a portion of the ETH held, within limits deemed compliant with regulatory frameworks.

According to the filing, if the ETF is approved, BlackRock plans to stake between 70% and 90% of the fund's ETH, with rewards distributed to investors at least quarterly. For custody, Coinbase Custody Trust will serve as the primary custodian, with Anchorage Digital Bank as an alternative. The Bank of New York Mellon will manage the fund's liquidity and act as its administrator.

Price Movement and Market Analysis

In terms of price action, Ethereum began the week by trying to reclaim a critical technical area, having defended the $3,000 mark despite significant volatility over the weekend. Over the last 24 hours, ETH saw a rise of nearly 3%, reaching $3,180 before experiencing a slight pullback on Monday.

Analyst Ali Martinez stated, “Now is the time to pay attention to ETH,” as the price approaches a potentially decisive level. The chart indicates that Ethereum has near-broken a bearish trend line that has acted as resistance since early October.

During this time, Ethereum, the king of altcoins, had made two unsuccessful breakout attempts. On Monday, ETH managed to briefly surpass the downtrend line but faced a third rejection shortly afterward.

However, if Ethereum can recover and hold the $3,120–$3,130 area, converting this former resistance into support, it could set the stage for a new test of the $3,200–$3,300 range, which established the lower limit during Q3 and early Q4.

Meanwhile, analyst Rekt Capital pointed out that Ethereum Dominance (ETHDOM) continues to move within its macro consolidation range, maintaining support at around 11.67%. He previously noted that if ETHDOM manages to stay above the 10.05% threshold, Ethereum would be well-positioned to gain further market share over time.

Despite historical trends suggesting the possibility of a retracement around 2.5%, this would still be perceived within the context of a larger bullish structure, which in the medium to long term could push ETH dominance toward the 18%–20% range.
