With USDT approximately 70% backed by cash and equivalents and 30% by gold, Bitcoin, and loans, he argues, “any questions about their liquidity are just silly,” given the unlikeliness of simultaneous massive redemption requests.

Ultimately, Dorman concludes that the current market challenges boil down to flows and market structure. “There are no buyers within the crypto walls today,” he notes. Crypto-native investors appear exhausted, and Wall Street firms, who are anticipated to enter the market, have yet to fully engage.
