In their post-incident report, Gondi explained that an exploit targeting its “Sell & Repay contract” enabled an attacker to withdraw a significant amount of escrowed NFTs from the platform. This specific contract allows users to sell NFT collateral and repay their loans.

Though Gondi updated the contract in February, the specifics of how the vulnerability was exploited remain unclear. Fortunately, the exploit did not affect other aspects of the protocol, and the problematic contract has been paused while Gondi works on a resolution.

“All users who interacted with this contract and were affected have been contacted directly by our team,” Gondi shared in an update. To assist with recovery, Gondi has contacted those buyers directly, requesting their aid in returning the NFTs to their rightful owners. The NFT community has rallied to help, successfully recovering and returning at least four NFTs, including Aluminum Gazer, Servant of the Muse, Doodle, and Lil Pudgy.
